Want your dog to have off-leash freedom, but don’t fully trust them to come back? Have you been curious about ecollar training, but are too unsure where to start? I too was very hesitant to use this tool when I was starting out. But over the years, I have seen the most nervous dogs absolutely thrive with proper ecollar training. As misunderstood as this tool is, it can be an incredible confidence booster as well as offer more freedom to more dogs than they ever otherwise would have. In this extensive course, I provide step-by-step details for how to properly condition an ecollar for recall. Also included are videos directly teaching this tool to a dog who had never before used one. This process is further expedited by including the pairing process with the behavior of heel. This means, you could also teach your dog off-leash heeling as well using this technique. Prerequisites for this course include: Your dog understanding basic recall, basic heel, and ideally markers. Through each is explained briefly throughout. Additionally, you will need a HIGH QUALITY ecollar. I personally recommend Ecollar Technologies or Dogtra brands. The ideal Ecollar will have 100 or more levels, and we primarily operate on very low levels. Towards the end of this process, it is also recommended you have a long-line to help proof the process while still having an additional backup-until you see consistent understanding in your dog. This course is NOT for those looking for a quick-fix solution. This can take an average of 2 weeks to several months, depending on the time dedicated and your dog’s process of learning.
